Don't lose sleep over your age and about getting older. Age is nothing but a bunch of numbers added together, while getting old is just all in the mind. The only reason why you need to remember your age is when you need to fill up government or medical forms. Otherwise, you can forget about it and live a happy and active life.

Here are some secrets to looking and feeling younger and happier:

Always Be Positive

People who have a positive disposition in life are usually the happy ones because they are not easily stressed or depressed by small problems and obstacles in life. Furthermore, optimism brings vitality and zest. On the other hand, people who are negative, nihilistic or fatalistic do not have the will to succeed and aspire for happiness. Lastly, individuals who are positive thinkers are often charismatic and have magnetic personalities so they end up having many friends and companions.

Sleep Well

Lack of sleep can give you puffy eyes and dark circles that make you look haggard, tired and way older than your real age. Furthermore, sleep deprivation can make you feel sluggish, confused and sometimes even forgetful.

In order for your mind and body to function properly throughout the day, you need to sleep at least eight hours every night. Your body restores and repairs itself during sleep, while your mind processes and organizes your memory.

Add Color To Your Diet

Leafy greens, orange produce, red fruits and other colorful vegetables and fruits are all necessary to keep your body healthy, your mind active, and your skin beautiful. All the vitamins and minerals that your body needs to perform at its peak can be found in most vegetables and fruits that are available in the market. Many women have noticed that eating such health-giving foods brings a rosy glow in the cheeks and helps clear skin from pimples and other blemishes.

Be Fashion Savvy

You don't have to wear designer brand or ultra-expensive clothes to be a fashion diva. All you need to do is to update your wardrobe with new accessories and few pieces that will help make your fashion up to date. A lot of maturing women in the US are fond of sticking to the 80s or 70s look, which is just another way of revealing their real age. However, you should also not overdo your fashion change and start wearing teen fashion. Dress appropriately so that you will not be judged as someone who is desperate in looking young.

Rest And Relax

It is perfectly all right to splurge a little for a massage, a body scrub or a visit to a spa or derma clinic. You deserve a break once in a while to help calm your mind and cope with stressful work at home and at the office. Furthermore, a little pampering can make you feel good about yourself, which is crucial in helping you feel and look forever young.

Lock In The Moisture

As a person gets older, his or her skin starts to dry up and wrinkle. One remedy to this problem is to moisturize. You should drink plenty of water, at least eight glasses everyday, in order to moisturize your skin from within. While lotions, moisturizers, and oils can all moisturize your skin from the outside.

Use Anti-aging Products

Some people have genes that make them look young even if they do not apply or use anything to stop or delay the aging process. But if you are not one of these people, you need all the help you can get to make your skin look younger without surgery and other invasive treatments. Be sure to apply a good anti-aging product on your face and neck to prevent premature wrinkling, drying and the appearance of age spots.
