Whether your manufacturing process uses volatile chemicals that can cause problems if spilled, or requires expensive components to be handled with great care, ensuring that all internal distribution is efficient and safe as possible using the right kind of overhead cranes will ensure that your productivity levels are maximized and your operational profit is kept as high as possible. There are a number of different options available to modern businesses when it comes to choosing the exact lifting system that they need, you can choose from a wide variety of different overhead cranes, and all have been designed and constructed to offer a slightly different lifting solution, with a number of refinements. Choosing the exact overhead crane that your business needs means looking at your exact requirements, and finding out which version is best for you. Steel gantry cranes offer great strength, and come in a number of different sizes to provide greater lifting power and flexibility. Wider beams typically allow for more capacity, and these are one of the most flexible overhead cranes systems available, as they can be moved around the workplace to wherever they are required. The benefit of an aluminum gantry crane over steel is that the actual weight is much lower, and the metal is not subject to corrosion. The stiffness and structural strength of these units allows them to be made lighter than steel versions, although in order to ensure maximum strength, the aluminum gantry cranes will normally be over designed, and have a greater capacity to lift than many other overhead cranes. Unlike gantries, which are intended for lateral movement, and can be moved around the workplace, overhead cranes with a fixed post and cantilevered jib are intended to be used in a single location. A huge variety of different designs is available from light duty small models that are intended for use on a single workbench and are restricted to relatively low weights through to larger and more powerful models that are intended for heavy work unloading and loading vehicles, and serving a large area of the workshop from a single point. Models like the mini overhead cantilever jib are designed to fit precisely around a standard size work bench, and allow the operator to swing heavy items up from the ground into a position where they can be worked on easily. The jib itself usually features a movable pulley system to allow for the materials to be moved in any direction, while the cantilever ensures stability for the whole overhead crane, and depending on the exact model you choose, a lifting capacity of up to 2,000 pounds is possible. No matter what you need to lift, and what kind of workplace you have, finding an overhead crane that serves your exact needs is simple, and by consulting with the experienced and helpful staff at most companies, you will find that you can get the ideal solution for your needs and get it installed quicker than ever.
