The Importance of a Healthy Diet

Picture this: The year is 2030 and youíre at the annual family reunion. Itís you and 99 of your dearest loved ones. Glancing around, you see people laughing, dancing, and barbequing. Then you notice something that isnít so rosy. Only 14 people out of the entire bunch are at a healthy weight.

When preparing your meals, include plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, and lean meats.

High blood pressure isnít the only thing that can lead to stroke and heart disease. High cholesterol is another killer. Healthy eating tips that will help lower your cholesterol include: eating at least 25 grams of fiber a day, limiting alcohol consumption to one or two glasses daily, and reducing your intake of trans and saturated fats.
