Students - What Credit Rewards Are For You? - Articles Surfing

If you're applying for your first credit card or you've possibly already have applied for one, you may have found that when you applied for your first credit card that you made the mistake of not doing your research. Just like a purchase, a credit card application is very similar, where if you don't do your research, you may not get what you wanted.

In order to find which credit card fits your needs, you'll have to ask yourself a few questions before you start looking for that perfect credit card. After you browse through the next few questions, it should help you better understand what kind of credit card will best suit you.

What do you do a lot of?

When you ask yourself this question, you also have to ask yourself these questions as well, 'Do you drive a lot?', 'Do you shop a lot?', and 'Do you travel a lot via airliners?' This will give you a good idea on what kind of credit card you want to apply for.

It basically comes down to this. Credit card rewards generally vary in a few forms. You have your gasoline rewards, airliner rewards, travel rewards, and your point rewards. The most common form is point rewards. This is where you receive a 'point' with every dollar you spend. Depending on the credit card company, you can then use these points to buy particular items.

Citi Bank's ThankYou Network has a very great system and online point store that basically has everything under the sun from gift cards to plane tickets. If you're not a big fan of the Citi Bank credit cards, there other similar packages as well with other bank issuers.

Will you be spending a lot?

The reason this question is asked is because some credit card companies may offer incentives if you spend so much per month, year, etc. Remember, when you're using your credit card, it's important that you spend responsibly and you don't spend more than what you have. If you know you're going to be using your credit card a lot, make sure you know what kind of incentives are offered by credit card companies. The more you spend, the more the credit card companies are going to like you.

Do your research

The best way to the perfect credit card rewards is to ask around. It's always best to ask someone around your parent's age or maybe even your grandparent's age. Ask them what kind of credit card they use and if they like it. Ask them what kind of rewards it offers and if they take advantage of the rewards.

It's always best to ask someone outside of the internet world because a lot of the times when you do a search for a review online, you will most likely find a negative review. This is why it's best to steer clear of that.

These three golden steps should definitely help you find your perfect reward credit card or at least it will get you on the right foot. All you need to do now is sit down, write down these questions and ask yourself. Once you figure out all of the answers, be sure to start browsing for that credit card.
