Home Security Recording: The Choice Of Working Moms - Articles Surfing

Working moms are anxious of the safety of their babies in the care of newly hired nannies. The very moment they leave the doorstep, they start worrying about their little ones. But with a home security recording, they can always check on the nanny, or rush home to boot the nanny out if ever.

Moms' Choice for Nanny Surveillance?

Hiring a nanny is a couple's most important decision, especially if both are working and the baby is just a few months old. It's hard for a working mom to leave the baby to a stranger, no matter how perfect her resume and credentials.

But you have no choice. You and your partner have to jobs and you can't give these up at this time. So you hire a nanny, but before you do, you equip the house with spy cameras for your home security recording. You've heard horror stories of monster nannies, and you'd better be armed than worry and be sorry.

So you choose the nanny highly recommended by the agency. She seems reliable and shows she can single-handedly manage your four-month-old twin boys. For a week, you watch her and the kids bond, but you still feel uneasy over something you can't name.

When your nanny asks if you have home security recording, your hackles rise because you know she has wizened up to nanny cams, yet she is entitled to know about the existence of any surveillance systems in your home.

It is just fair to all concerned to be aware of the existence of a home security recording. Local laws demand that members of the family and prospective employees should be duly informed of the presence of surveillance security systems. Nanny surveillance or not, your babies are still your primary concern and main reason for installing a security system.

How Home Security Recording Works

With your PC, DVR software, and video capture card you can have an effective nanny surveillance system. You will need three to four cameras, though, just to be sure you can have baby and nanny monitored. Cameras in the nursery, living room, kitchen, and even somewhere that can keep an eye on the kitchen counter can ease your mind.

A PC based security recording can record video directly to your PC's hard disk, which makes it easier and convenient to store and playback the recorded files when you get home from work.

The cameras capture the actions of the nanny, which is sent to a format recognized by the DVR recording system. The images register on the monitors, are stored in the hard drive, and are archived.

If you see that the nanny tosses the helpless twins on the couch or carries them around like sacks of potatoes, you can take a taxi home and fire the nanny on the spot. She will not be able to dispute what has been captured by the home security recording. You can also use the recordings in court should it be necessary.

You can use different types of surveillance cameras - from the most obvious to the tiniest spy cameras you can hide conveniently in the most unexpected places. You have the choice though of getting a wired or wireless system, whichever is convenient or affordable.

You can also add more cameras with the use of expansion cards if you are using a PC-based system. The appropriate video capture card and the DVR software will maximize your PC functionality as an effective home security recording system.
