You need to understand that there will be a stage in your dieting and weight-loss program where you will shed pounds very slowly. In fact, there will be days when you will see an increase instead of a decrease in weight, especially when you are weight training as you build up more muscles.

The best thing to do, when you are dieting, is to check your weight once a week and also pay attention to your dress size and overall health. There will be days when you seem to gain instead of lose weight, but your dress size has dropped and you are already able to wear your favorite skinny jeans. So what you see in the weighing scale is not the only measure that you are indeed getting rid of your body fat.

3. Forgetting To Drink Up

Drinking enough water is very important in ensuring that our bodies function well. Water is crucial in getting rid of the toxins, maintaining skin health from within, and also making you feel full. When you feel hungry, you need to drink a few glasses of water first before grabbing a chocolate or any food to satiate your hunger pangs.

4. Continuing To Consume Sugar-Rich Beverage

Juices, sodas, coffee concoctions and alcohol all contain calories. Thus, even if you are really dieting and sticking to low-calorie food, you can still gain weight if you keep on drinking high-calorie sugar-laden beverages. Instead of drinking a soda, why not try gulping water?

5. Forgetting The Importance Of Exercise

Although you could really shed a lot of pounds by dieting, you still need exercise to become healthy. You will end up with flabby arms and thighs and a lot of loose skin if you just diet without sweating the fat out. If your reason for losing weight is to be healthier and to reduce the risk of certain diseases, then you need to exercise and build up the strength of your heart, bones and muscles.
