As we get older, competing with the younger crowd in a variety of areas has become incredibly difficult. Even if you have the technical experience to become an administrative assistant, marketing representative, or programmer, you are required to have a "younger attitude," to ensure your personality will meld well with others. We can at least understand that point, but that is where simple logic meets the end of the road.

How do you dress? Do you date yourself with antiquated clothing from the 80s or 90s? And what type of lingo do you speak? Is it hip to say, "hip" anymore? When did having years of experience that will add substantial value to a company's revenue become insignificant? If you do not know what World of Warcraft is, you don't get the job. Is this insane, or is it a path paved for more discrimination of the over 40 crowd? Who said 40 is the new 30 anyway?

Weren't we supposed to save that hard-earned money for the more joyful times in our life of retirement? Instead, we are losing interest on this valuable money to keep our jobs or get a new one. But we don't have to share that little secret with the "under 30 crowd!"
