Hair Replacement And Restoration Options - Articles Surfing

Hair replacement for men has come a long way over the years. There are many options and solutions available if you want to improve your appearance and get that full head of hair back. Hair loss is normally defined as the thinning of the hair at the crown and the front of the scalp. Everyone loses hair on a daily basis, but it's always replaced at the next hair cycle, unless re-growth does not occur - this is when hair loss becomes a permanent problem.

Some hair restoration products and techniques work for both men and women, while others are only successful for men. The option you choose will depend on many different factors. Sometimes the sheer number of products available on the market can make the whole process very confusing - so what are the best choices?

Laser hair care is one way to go. This is a new technology that has been recently developed to re-stimulate hair growth in the scalp by restoring the scalp and its microcirculatory system. This method of hair restoration also deals with dandruff and other scalp problems - after about 5 or 6 treatments you will start to see minor results with these issues. By treatment numbers 6-9 you may begin to notice a drastic reduction in hair loss.

If you're starting to notice that you're losing hair at a rapid pace, this type of hair replacement solution may work for you. Ten visits in total, twice a week, are required if you want to successfully deal with your hair and scalp problems through this new method.

A permanent hair graft is another popular hair restoration solution. This process is effective for those with thinning hair, and offers a surgical alternative to the other readily available hair replacement techniques. There are many limitations to other forms of hair restoration, which could damper your results and not give you the full head of hair you've been trying to achieve.

So how does it work? Essentially, each hair is implanted individually into the scalp so that it seems as if you have real hair growing out of your head. Although the hair never grows, this doesn't really affect the final results - you have the appearance of a full head of hair that looks thick and feels natural.

Hair transplants have other benefits as well - the implanted follicles feel soft, smooth, and are quite strong, so you don't have to worry about pulling the hair pieces out from their roots or breaking the hair too easily. It's a good idea to take precautions, but you don't have to be especially careful about what you do to your hair. A slightly different type of hair transplant takes your own hair from the back of your head and transplants it in the areas that require more hair. This type of hair transplant is nice because you get to use your own hair, for a more natural look.

In addition to laser treatment and surgical options, you can use hair replacement products, designed to re-grow hair on bare spots. Rogaine is the most well-known product on the market, which is applied directly to the scalp. Propecia is another popular choice - both are approved by the FDA as safe and effective for regular use. If you use either product, make sure you follow the directions carefully.

Hair pieces are another option, if you don't want to go through a drawn out surgical procedure or continuously use hair products. Hairpieces allow you to select exactly the look you want and come home with a full head of hair in a very short amount of time. And luckily, hair pieces have come a long way in the past few years. You don't have to worry about being the subject of bad jokes - modern day hairpieces are designed to give you your hair back and look natural. You can find something to match your hair color and skin tone, and that offers a comfortable fit. Plus, a hair piece is often the least expensive option all around.

Keep in mind that hair regrowth does not occur unless you use a product such as Rogaine. With transplants, hair never regrows - it just stays where the surgeon has placed the new hair follicle. Hair regrowth is only possible with FDA-approved drugs.

The Bosley LaserComb is a unique new device that offers yet another choice when it comes to hair loss and restoration. This nifty comb from Bosley uses the benefits of laser technology to strengthen each individual hair follicle and the hair overall. As each strand is revitalized, hair growth is promoted. This is an FDA-approved device that has been shown to work well in the battle against hair loss.
