American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced the all-new 2007 Honda CR-V is debuting at dealerships nationwide. Prices for the 2007 Honda CR-V range from $20,600 for the CR-V LX model to $26,000 for the CR-V 4-WD EX-L model. Honda's Satellite-Linked Navigation System with Voice Recognition(TM) and rearview camera is available as a $2,000 factory-installed option.
The all-new CR-V features a sophisticated interior design that delivers near-luxury style along with improved refinement and a more powerful and efficient 166-horsepower, 2.4-liter, 4 cylinder engine. As part of Honda's industry leading "Safety for Everyone" initiative, all Honda light trucks, including the CR-V, are equipped with a Vehicle Stability Assist(TM) (VSA(TM)) system and a comprehensive list of standard safety features, including side curtain airbags with roll-over sensors, front side airbags with Occupant Position Detection System and anti-lock braking system. The 2007 CR-V features Honda's innovative Advanced Compatibility Engineering(TM) (ACE(R)) Body Structure for enhanced frontal collision safety.
New features on 2007 CR-V models include:
- Distinctive, upscale, dynamic and versatile styling
- Standard safety equipment includes ACE Body Structure and Active Front Head Restraints
- Interior design and amenities deliver near-luxury style and refinement
- New body and chassis designs result in smoother, more agile performance and a quieter cabin
- 10 more horsepower (166 hp) and standard 5-speed automatic transmission
- Improved ingress/egress with optimized door designs and 1.3 inch lower step-in height than the previous generation CR-V
- Dual-deck cargo shelf (available)
- Available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with Voice Recognition
Worldwide, the CR-V is built in seven countries at eight factories, and for the first time it will be assembled using domestic and globally-sourced parts in North America at Honda of America Manufacturing in the East Liberty Plant (Ohio). A truly global product for Honda, the CR-V is sold in 160 countries in North America, Europe, Asia, South America and Africa.
The Honda CR-V is a highly-versatile four-door entry crossover SUV with a roomy 5-passenger interior, sedan-like handling and comfort, and a reputation for offering the highest levels of standard safety features in the segment. The all-new 2007 Honda CR-V adds a dynamic sense of style and refinement, bridging the space between sport and utility better than any CR-V yet - while adding recently-developed collision compatibility safety enhancements like Honda's exclusive Advanced Compatibility Engineering(TM) (ACE(TM)) Body Structure.
Now in its third generation since its 1997 U.S. debut, the CR-V helped establish the crossover SUV segment - now the fastest growing portion of the light truck market and forecast to be the second largest automotive segment overall by the end of the decade. Sold in more countries than any other Honda vehicle, the CR-V is among the best-selling vehicles for Honda globally, cumulatively reaching approximately 2.5 million customers in 160 different countries over its lifetime.
As a crossover SUV, the foundation of the CR-V starts with unit-body construction for sedan-like on-road performance, maximized interior packaging, optimized safety construction and good fuel economy for an SUV. Since unit-body construction allows for interior space to be maximized, the CR-V's packaging provides generous 5-passenger interior space and superior cargo functionality relative to traditional SUV designs that are inherently less space-efficient.
The CR-V's new direction goes beyond evolution and results in more style in a smarter and more sophisticated package. The CR-V is designed to be the best balance of size and performance ideal for professionals or families who need a vehicle that can perform triple duty as a daily driver, a family hauler and as a platform for active outdoor lifestyles. At home on a snowy mountain road or in the valet queue downtown, the 2007 CR-V moves beyond conventional SUV styling with ultra-modern lines, a fashionable presence and a meticulous attention to detail.
A dynamic and emotional forward cabin blends the familiar CR-V identity into a sculpted lower body with modular and protective lower body styling. A new double grille and a side profile with an arched window shape accent the CR-V's distinctive and upscale presence. Adding to the clean lines, the spare tire now resides under the rear floor as opposed to the exterior of the tailgate
