Motorcycle Apparel - Articles SurfingGot the bike now you need the motorcycle apparel to keep you comfortable and riding safer. When you think apparel you probably think helmets, pants, and boots, but there are plenty of other accessories. Don't let them slip by. Here are some items worth considering. There are a host of cooling and heating accessories that will keep you either warm on a cool day or cool on a warm day. These items include thumb warmers, jackets, vests, neck wraps, water bottles, and so much more. You need to keep your core body temperature consistent when riding. An off temperature can affect your vision, reactions, judgment, and even your balance. These accessories can help you do that. The heated plug in items are becoming increasingly popular for riding on those cold days. Your ride will be much safer and you'll be able to do the distance easier. These devices are convenient and run off the battery power of your motorcycle. The cooling vest is exactly the opposite and it's like carrying your own air conditioner with you. These vests can really make a ride in the heat tolerable. And of course be sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Neck wraps help regulate the flow of blood that's going to your brain by keeping the temperature consistent. The neck wrap protects you from both hot and cold wind and it is these winds that can cause your blood to heat up or cool down causing heatstroke or hypothermia. Use a fleece neck warp in the winter and one of those designed to hold water in the summer. Reflective strips are easily available and because they are bright they will grab the attention of other drivers giving you a better chance to notice you. 3M has a really good selection. You should place them on your jacket, helmet, pants, and even your bike. A rain suit is an excellent investment and one that's often overlooked. They are available in either one or two piece suits and many wrap up so small they will fit easily under your seat. You just never know when that next rain storm will arrive. And having a rain suit handy is much better than scrambling for a garbage bag for your feet or to act as a rain poncho. There are expensive suits available but you don't have to spend a lot if you don't want to. There are many cheap choices around that will keep you dry in a pinch. Trust me when I say you don't want to be wet and cold on your bike - it's a yucky ride! Tools although not something you wear are something that should be handy. Tools like electrical tape, zip ties, or even a tie gauge to name just a few items. Your motorcycle apparel is a big part of enjoyable riding. After all if you are comfortable - not too warm and not too cold - then your ride is going to be so much more comfortable and you are going to have a great time!
