You may have to work for a reduced fee to gain a couple of clients, but once you provide great work to them, they'll recommend you to their friends and you will have people pounding down your door! When you are working with your clients, you are going to want to include some of your best pictures and make a portfolio. This can be a digital album of the work that you have done. It can be on disk, DVD or paper. It is really important that you have something to show prospective clients, and even more important that your portfolio reflects the quality of your work.

When thinking about your digital photography business, one thing to consider is whether or not you can add something special or unique. Perhaps, you can offer to make a digital album of their wedding, adding music, video, and special backgrounds to their pictures, to make a virtual slideshow on a DVD. Or, if you are talented with computer programs, perhaps you could retouch some of the photos that are going to be printed and enlarged, so that the bride and groom look their very best.
