The History of Conan The Barbarian

Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures is a massively-multi player online role playing game based on the world created by Robert E. Howard. Conan the Barbarian is also know as Conan the Cimmerian because that was the name of the land where Howard let him come from and is part of the so called heroic fantasy. Howard wrote only one Conan novel "The hour of the Dragon" but the world where Conan came from Hyboria was part of many of of his stories. Conan has since then appeared in many comics, books, television programs, films and video games and this has contributed to his long-standing popularity.

Between May 17, 2008 and May 23, 2008 the game was released world wide for the PC. The XBox 360 version will follow later. Funcom the creator of the game has plans to create a whole series of Age of Conan games. Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures takes place in the continent of the Hyborian kingdoms. The main impressions of the game come from the creators interpretation, the stories from Robert E. Howard. He writes about dark and ancient forces in a fantasy world with a very ancient atmosphere, ruins, primitive and brutal surroundings that sketch the outlines of this hard world.

In Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures you go into Hyboria and explore the world of King Conan but you do not need to go alone, the first few levels are to learn your way around the game, but after that you will meet many other gamers and play adventures with them. You can switch between multi player are single player during the first 20 levels. No other game have given players this opportunity. Together with friends you can go deep in to Hyboria and experience many great adventures and quests.

But Age of Conan also has some choices for the Player versus player modus there are massive siege battles to instant fun mini games and even and entire PvP server where you can make friends or kill some foes. The PvP mini games are meant for fun, they are something easy to do alone or with a group of friends.
