Quinceanera 911: Dealing With The Little Emergencies - Articles Surfing

It's a sad truth that no matter how carefully you plan, there's going to be little setbacks and small emergencies somewhere along the line at your Quinceanera celebration. But it's also true that you can anticipate the small things and prepare for them, so that when your special day comes you'll be ready for almost anything.

There's No Cure Like Prevention

It can be a little nerve-wracking, but there's no surer solution to little emergencies than avoiding them altogether. If you're careful enough to watch what you're doing and not let your excitement get the best of you, you'll avoid lot of little disasters.

A few strategies to consider: have someone help you with jewelry clasps and buttons, to avoid broken nails. Soak your eyes with chamomile tea bags early in the morning, to remove puffiness and bleariness. Arrange to arrive at the church a half-hour before the Mass, so you'll have time to find your seat and arrange your kneeling pillow.

Maintain Your Energy Levels With Vitamin C

Take lots of Vitamin C during the day, to boost your energy levels - it'll help keep you going without sending you to the ladies room every twenty minutes, like soda or energy drinks. Good old orange juice is a great source of the stuff, as are fruit punches and multivitamins.

Get Your Things Together

The night before your Quinceanera, pack an "emergency kit" with backup Quinceanera supplies. These might include extra makeup and hair styling, extra toiletries, an extra pair of hose, a nail repair kit, aspirin, a sewing kit, and anything else you think you might need. Pack everything in, but not tightly, so you don't have to dig around.

Give the complete kit to your mother, an aunt or cousin for safekeeping before heading to the church.

Become A Fashion Medic

A lot of little problems with your dress, stockings, and makeup have quick fix solutions. Got a pimple? Don't pop it but blend concealer all around it. Got a run in your stockings? Keep them together with clear nail polish until you can get changed.

Trust Others to Take Care of the Little Things

You'll want to enjoy yourself at the Quince celebration, and while you'll probably feel personally responsible for every little detail, don't be afraid to set others on problem-solving detail. Your family and friends want you to have a good time, too, and they won't mind speaking to the headwaiter, DJ, or facility manager on your behalf. The can also take care of distributing the Quince party favors. Remember: it's your special day, and you should enjoy yourself too!
