Dine Al Fresco With The Perfect Picnic Goods - Articles Surfing

Summer is upon us again, and what better way of enjoying the sunny weather than by planning a family picnic? And while warmer weather is the perfect time to dine al fresco, there is also something lovely about having a picnic in the woods in autumn when the leaves are turning bright reds and orange. Indeed, providing you are well rugged up for cooler weather, you can almost picnic all year round.

Indeed there is no better way than enjoying the great outdoors than by packing a picnic and heading into the wilderness. And nothing makes for better family memories than by spreading out a blanket, setting out plates of delicious food, then simply sitting back and watching your children play in the fresh air.

Like most things, the best picnics are those that are well prepared and pre-organized. Having the right equipment can make this a whole lot easier. You need to think about the people you are taking on your picnic, as well as overall numbers. For instance, if there are going to be loads of children, you will obviously need to take practical, durable equipment that caters to their needs. If it is romantic picnic for two, you can be a bit more adventurous, taking champagne glasses and fine china.

Whatever the composition of your picnic party, be sure to take sufficient plates and cutlery for each member going on the picnic, as well as a few of extra settings just in case more people come. You will also need a large blanket, preferably one with a waterproofed base to prevent any dampness from the soil leaching into the blanket. Even if you are planning to eat at picnic tables, having a blanket is handy in case facilities are already occupied.

Other items which you may consider are canned fuel or charcoal for a barbecue; ice and ice containers to chill drinks and food in; paper plates for easy clean-ups; a thermal container for warm foods; table clothes; serviettes and garbage bags.

Before you leave on your picnic, you should also think about what activities you will be engaged in. You may wish to take sporting goods; beach balls; fishing rods and equipment; books and reading material. Finally be sure to take an umbrella, sun block, insect repellent and a simple first aid kit.

After all, the most memorable picnics are those that are well organized and carefully planned. In the great outdoors a simple change in weather, or a swarm of persistent mosquitoes, could ruin your day so be prepared for anything.
