3 Easy Tips For Decorating Hawaiian Style Family Rooms - Articles Surfing

Decorating your family room in Hawaiian style is currently one of the hottest decorating trends. Anyone can incorporate Hawaiian style elements into his or her home. To get ready to decorate your Hawaiian style family room, I suggest you leave the walls in a neutral color such as beige, white or tan. That way when you add your Hawaiian style accessories, all of the elements will pop and you everything will coordinate beautifully. Here are 3 easy tips for decorating a Hawaiian style family room with great accessories.

1. To start with, it is best to create a focal point in your Hawaiian style family room. This is best done with a piece of Hawaiian artwork such as a beach scene, a tropical floral photo, a Hula girl painting, or anything else you love. This may be the one item you splurge on. Place this piece of Hawaiian style art in a highly visible place such as over the piano, on the mantle, or in the center of your main wall.

2. The next accessory to add to your Hawaiian style family room would be a great rug. There are lots of rugs to choose from depending on your taste. You could select Hawaiian style rugs in themes such as palm trees, pineapples, bright hibiscus rugs, underwater themes, a fun beach scene or go with a neutral sea grass rug.

3. Now that you've got the main elements in your Hawaiian style family room, it's time to add the fun Hawaiian style accessories. Tropical pillows are the next item to place in your Hawaiian style family room. Pillows are fairly inexpensive and you can definitely mix and match many different fabric prints and textures. Be sure to select a few solid colors. Toss the pillows on a sofa, a window seat or on a fireplace mantle. There are no right or wrong ways to display Hawaiian style pillows. Add more Hawaiian style accessories in your room such as: beach signs, tiki statues, seashells, coral, and tropical plants and flowers.

Anything goes in a Hawaiian style family room. It is best to mix and match tropical items that you love creating an eclectic feel. Make sure you personalize your room with your own items such as your Hawaiian vacation photos and souvenirs.
