Could Swamp Coolers Be What You Need? - Articles Surfing

Swamp coolers are one of the best types of coolers available and they really can help you to keep your home cool in the hot summer months. They are also known as evaporated coolers and they work perfectly for years to come.

Swamp coolers can help during hot days

The problem during the nice summer months is that it can be extremely uncomfortable with the heat and the house can become extremely stuffy and become restricting. The air can be so dry and it can at times be extremely unbearable at the same time. The great news is that there are things which you can buy for your house to help you and one of these things is called a swamp cooler.

How Swamp Coolers Could Help You

A swamp cooler is designed to help you by cooling the air around the home. It does this by evaporating the air as it goes through it. They are easy to maintain and they are also easy and cost effective to use too.

Basically the coolers use two motors; one to pump the water from the bottom of the cooler to the top, and one to drive the fan which is used to pull the air in from outside. The air is usually cooled by around 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

The only time that a swamp cooler would not work for you is on days where there is late summer rain and the house may start to feel a little muggy. However, when it is dry and hot that is when the cooler is most effective. If you live in an area where there is high humidity then the cooler will also not work properly.

The coolers really are cost effective and they tend to use only a quarter of the energy of a refrigerator. This means that you will save quite a lot on your energy bill each year. The pads inside the cooler also give off a pleasant scent which you can enjoy during the hot summer months.

Swamp coolers are also known as evaporated coolers as they do evaporate the air. Another advantage is that with most other coolers, over time they become less effective as chemicals and minerals are left inside them from the air that is filtered through. This in turn causes the pads to become unabsorbant and the cooler will basically stop working properly. However with swamp coolers they come with a kind of bleed off mechanism which removes the concentrated salts from the water, leaving it clear and working in perfect condition.

Overall swamp coolers can really come in handy in the hot, sticky summer months. They are inexpensive to purchase and they do not cost a lot to run either. So why not consider getting one this summer before your home turns into a sticky mess?
