A vertical blind of wood is an arrangement which covers a door or a window. Generally, it is stuck to the inside part of the window or the door. It protects from sunlight. It is called a blind as it blocks the view from outside. It also gives privacy.

Wood vertical blinds have parallel slits that coincide when it's shut. Different materials like wood, metal or fabric that's solidified are used for making such slits. These slits are adjusted in different ways. E.g. sometimes they are rolled up while sometimes they are spiraled at 90 degrees.

Classifications

Different classes of wood vertical blinds can be found. E.g. a particular class of wood blind that was made in 1770 in Venice, Italy is called by the name of Venetian blind. It has been named in recognition to its place of birth.

A specific form of this Venetian blind is the mini blind. It consists of slits that taper-off and is a smaller sized version of the Venetian blind. You can also find solid blinds which block outside light from entering. These are kept rolled or folded up. Such categories are named as window shade.

Constituents

Sometimes wood from linden tree which is generally found in North America, Asia, Europe and Mexico is used to prepare wood blinds. Brass wood is given by this tree's lumbar. Though brass wood is weightless and soft-grained, it has the unique characteristic of being sturdy and having great strength. This special characteristic helps it to bear the wear-and-tear of daily routine.

Resonant arrangement of brass wood elicits slight trace of coloring and obscurity. Aspen gives a homogenous shade along with brightness and natural tarnish. A balanced and resilient image is created by poplar.

In which way does it function?

A connector fixed to a string rotates the blind. Previously, using a cord, it was pulled up and down. But thanks to advanced technology, at present, motorized connectors do the job.

A room gets a complete new definition owing to wood vertical blinds. These blinds not only enhance the room-d'cor manifolds but also provide protection from heat and sunlight. Till date, they are recognized as the supplest way of managing sliding windows and doors.
