Is Network Marketing Really Worth Your Time or Should You Run Away Screaming? - Articles Surfing

First of all what is Network Marketing? This is a business model that has been around for over 50 years. Think: Avon, Tupperware, Mary Kay. Amway, etc. The list goes on. So yes, network marketing is a real business.

A lot of people refer to network marketing or MLM (Multi Level Marketing) as a pyramid scheme. What exactly is a pyramid scheme? Basically this is a
'business' model where no products or services are sold. The only way to make money is to continually sign up new people. This is illegal.

Network marketing, on the other hand, is when a company uses independent 'business builders' to sell their product. A good network marketing company will have top of the line products or services. This allows the company to build their business without the overhead of a more 'traditional', salaried sales force.

Is network marketing for you? There are a lot of very good reasons to get involved with network marketing.

1) Low startup cost. With most companies the only expense is to buy some of their product. Usually just enough for your own use. You don't have to
have a big inventory on hand.

2) You don't need any previous experience.

3) You can make a very good income because you don't have to do all the work yourself. You build an organization and you get a percentage of what is sold by the people below you in your downline. You do the work once and you can get paid over and over again basically forever.

So what's the catch? The catch is that you have to build the organization first. This will take some time and some money.

And the training in most network marketing companies is sub standard to say the least. They will usually have you make a list of everyone you know.

That is a waste of time because no matter how much your friends and family love you, that doesn't mean they want to join you in a business.

So, is network marketing a viable way to escape the rat race and gain financial freedom? Yes, if you do a few simple things:

1) Make sure you treat it like a business, not a hobby. If you want to make money you will need to work on your business.

2) You will need to spend some time, and yes some money, to learn the skills necessary to grow your business. Namely marketing. It doesn't matter if your network marketing business is the greatest thing on Earth, if you don't let anyone know who you are and what you have to offer you will fail.

So if you are ready to spend the required time and effort to learn how to run and build a business than network marketing can be a great way for you to secure the financial future you want for yourself and your family.

Just have an enthusiastic attitude and don't get caught up in the hype and think that you will get rich overnight. You can get rich, but it will take some time and effort.
