Is Your Site Ready For SEO? - Articles SurfingHow to Get Your New Website Listed in Major Search Engines- Is Your Site Ready for SEO? If you have your website up and running then all the power to you but have you forgotten anything in particular? Unique content that informs visitors is integral to a new website and indeed any website, young or old, so make sure that your website is chocked full of useful content before looking for ways to have it listed in major search engines. If you already do have a good quantity of worthwhile content then you are ready to proceed to the next step. Ask yourself if your website is search engine friendly and if it is not then it is time to make some revisions. What does search engine friendly mean? It basically means that there is no flash for navigation anywhere on the site and also no JavaScript because the search engine spiders cannot negotiate their way through links in order to index your site from beginning to end. Keep this in mind when designing your site. Another important point to consider is how many links you have included at your site. More is not always better. If you have more than 100 on any given page then you have overdone it and must go back to the drawing board to do some cleaning up of the site and weeding through what is necessary and what is not. Structure is an important component of every website so make sure yours has a structure that is ideal for online visitors. Always make headings in bold print as search engine listings like these as do free search engine listings and meta search engines. A well-structured site is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to negotiate your way through and it is also a web page tip that will help with website promotion down the line. Never use PHP or JavaScript to find out how many visitors browsed your site and do not use these tools to redirect the visitors. If you want to improve your chances at a search engine listing then do not do these things! A redirect that targets search engines and nothing else is classified as cloaking and this is an online violation that could lead to your site being banned. Once your website is ready for a search engine listing, either directly submit your site to the search engines that interest you (don't just think big search engine listings, think free search engine listings, organic search engine listings and marketing SEO via the web) or else obtain viable links to your website from operational sites that are doing well for themselves and that already have a listing with many of the major search engines.
