Article Surfing ArchiveUsing Various Methods to Drive Traffic to Your Blog - Articles SurfingDriving traffic to your blog is the only way to make money. Besides, who wants to contribute to a blog that no one sees? There are various methods to get traffic to your blog. We will discuss some of the primary ones below. Adwords/MSN/Yahoo: Adwords, MSN and Yahoo are all good methods to get fast traffic to their website. It can be expensive if you don't know what you are doing. Make sure that your blog is monetized or ask visitors to join your email list so that you can get a return on your investment. Social Network Sites: Social networking sites such as Stumble Upon, Facebook, Propeller, Slideshare, Digg, Twitter, Newsvine, and Scribd, if used correctly can send you an avalanche of traffic. The important thing to remember is to offer good information and to be consistent. Joint Ventures With Other Blogs Owners: Search out blog owners that may have a blog who's subject is complimentary to your own. Offer to provide their readers with a free gift (e-book, access to a membership site, etc.) in exchange for being able to write a post about your website that would be posted on their blog. Forums: Forums are an easy, cheap (free) and fast way to get visitors to your blog. Go to BigBoards.com and find forums that are related to your niche. Create a signature link with your blog's address in it and begin to contribute. Offering related news stories, free reports or a thoughtful posts will help endear you to the forum. You have to keep this up however. Visit everyday or every other day for 10-15 minutes and get your posts count up. Members with high posts count are generally more respected. Free Classified Ads: If you use the right, free classified ad websites, you can really get a lot of free traffic to your blog. For this to be successful, you will need to pick a topic that a lot of people are interested in and one that is available on the free classified sites. A blog on physics will likely not be able to find many interested readers from free classified sites. Instead, if you have a blog on something like repairing credit, learning to play an instrument, dieting, or muscle building, you should be able to find an audience. Try Craigslist and Backpage to get you started. Blog Comments: Making informed and personal blog comments may allow you to pick up a few visitors, it might even lead to some joint ventures between you and other blog owners. Article Directories: Article directories are still a good place to pick up traffic. Again, write a couple of article every week to build up your article count. Free E-book Sites: Free e-book sites allow other marketers or interested readers to download free books. Make sure that you place links to your blog in the ebook. To find a good list of ebook directories, simply do a search in Google, Yahoo and MSN.
