Lab Coats Need Not Be Drab Coats!

We cannot imagine any medical service or healthcare profession without its share of lab coats. Lab coats give a certain kind of appeal of their own. Apart from being a very comfortable kind of wear, lab coats are necessary for providing grace and a formal appearance to the healthcare professionals. But it is not necessary that a lab coat must be a boring piece of uniform with some the latest designs, even some unconventional ones, the lab coats are getting their fair share of haute couture.

Lab coats have become absolutely synonymous with the medical profession, so much so that patients cannot imagine being services by someone who is not in a white lab coat. The impression is so strong that white lab coats have become indispensable in a healthcare unit. But the trends are slowly changing. Doctors are slowly shedding their white look and are getting lab coats in more glamorous colors. The same can be said about the nurse labcoats.

Lab coats are getting more colors. If you check some of the online stores, you will find lab coats that are designed in light blue, light green, beige, peach and several other colors. The traditional single color pattern is also exiting slowly healthcare professionals are trying to use double color patterns, such as light body color and a contrasting dark color at the borders of the lab coats. Such combinations can be worked to a great deal in getting attractive patterns for lab coats.

Also, it is not necessary that lab coats must only have four pockets in the front. A lot of changes are happening there. Some lab coats have the bottom two pockets designed as diagonal cut-off pockets which can be used very effectively for warming hands, or just to get a typical medical look when on the move in the workplace. The top pockets are provided with other additions like loops to hold pencils, spectacles and even stethoscopes.

Nurses have it much better when it comes to lab coats. There can be different choices for colors in their labcoats, and some of them even have prints on their nurses' lab coats. In addition, some healthcare institutions are using color coding to decide between their various nurse stations. Different colors and patterns are available in lab coats for nurses which makes this task easier.

Very slowly, theme lab coats are also making their appearance felt in the market. These could be traditionally white lab coats, but with a small motif of the season imprinted or silk screened on them. Full-bodied theme patterns are not quite permissible yet, but a small icon of the season somewhere on the lab coat looks really good, and gives a whole new fashion sense to the otherwise boring lab coat.

Got a favorite online retailer? You can check out the large collection of medical wear, including lab coats and scrubs. Online retailers also have the latest in lab coats fluid resistant lab coats. Got a company logo, and you can have the logo embroidered directly on your lab coat. You can also get your name embroidered directly on the labcoat. Your lab coat will be uniquely yours.
