Acne Treatment ' Help From An Expert Dermatologist - Articles Surfing

There are many ways to remove pimples from an adult person's skin. But women should not only think of treating acne by themselves. An expert help from a dermatologist should be considered. Dermatologists can equip one with knowledge on skin care so that acne can finally be treated.

There have been many ways to eradicate acne and the most familiar and popular is the topical therapeutic way. A topical treatment uses creams, gels and solutions, which a person should apply on affected areas. Depending on what works for specific people, these topical solutions usually are composed of benzoyl peroxide and a topical antimicrobial like erythromycin and clindamycin. Mild to moderate acne in adults can be erased with this combination.

Treatment that has retinoid is also available, but may need a prescription when the combination is harsher. There are some compounds that might also be more effective, but harsher is not always better. It could even make the acne problem worse. When dealing with medicines that are hard to understand, it is best to consult a dermatologist about it.

There are also pimple-fighting solutions that are taken orally. Some balances or maintains the hormonal fluctuations on women. This treatment may be best for girls in their puberty, since it is in this stage that most fluctuations in hormones happen. Women are more susceptible because they are prone to hormonal changes even way after their mid-20s.

There are various precipitating factors, which can include menopause or pregnancy. However, women cannot just take pills to treat acne problems. Taking oral medications for acne may be detrimental to a woman especially if she is pregnant. In cases when the acne is extremely harsh or stubborn, a dermatologist may prescribe 'oral antibiotics' to the patient.

Washing the face can also aid a person with acne. The soaps or solutions used are usually mild, and sometimes people wash their faces more often with the belief that less oil will result to less breakouts. But this can do the exact opposite. Because of excessive dryness due to constant washing, the face might produce more oil, and thus more pimples. Scrubbing the face too hard can also irritate the skin and cause even more acne.

Overall, with all the treatments available, a consultation with a dermatologist is one thing that could really help. Not all acne breakouts are the same, and their causes vary as well. Specific solutions apply on specific acne breakouts, and some methods that work for some might not work for others. A pimple may be injected on to eradicate it, but one should not expect that all acne sufferers are treated the same way.

Self-medication is not always the best way to treat acne, and impatience can even worsen an acne problem. Pinching and popping the pimple out can result to a permanent scar, which will last way, way longer than the acne itself. It is best to treat acne carefully; making sure that the solution is well thought of and well consulted about.

Acne may be incredibly irritating and annoying, especially when the person is already an adult, but it pays to keep it cool and handle the situation in a calmer manner.
