6 Killer Puppy Training Tips - Articles Surfing

Often times people will say that puppy training is challenging but in actuality it is not the training that is easy or hard, it is the way that you approach the puppy training that decides whether it will be a challenge or not. Below I will share 7 killer tips to make your puppy training an ease...

Killer Tip #1 ' Go out and get yourself a nylon leash, preferably around 5 feet in length and let your puppy drag it around with them. This way if the puppy tries taking off from the room you can grab the leash and keep them close. It is also good for if you want to tie them down while you leave the room for a moment.

Killer Tip #2 ' Your puppy does not know the difference from right and wrong until you teach them so make sure that you keep an eye on your new puppy. This way you can make sure that they do as they should and you can be there if they need to go outside. If you can not be there to watch them then you should look into getting a dog kennel or cage for those times when you are not around.

Killer Tip #3- Now this tip is very important for your puppy's training and development ' make sure you handle them. Rub your puppies ears, scratch it's head, check their teeth and gums, scratch their bellies... just get them used to being touched and handled. This will insure that your dog grows up to be kind when handled by groomers, vets, children and other adults.

Killer Tip #4 ' Dogs can be masters at reading your body language so start using it early on in their training along with your verbal commands. Talk to them with both your voice and your hands.

Killer Tip #5 ' Make sure that you let your puppy socialize with other dogs as early as possible. You need to let your puppy see the world. This step is critical for the proper development of your puppy. You should check with your vet to see when it is safe to socialize your puppy but generally your puppy should be okay after their second set of shots.

Killer Tip #6 ' Using positive reinforcements, start training your puppy to do tricks like sit, lay down and roll over. These tricks will help begin your puppy's formal obedience training. Another good thing about these tricks is that they teach your puppy to stay calm and that you are in charge. Just make sure that you train them with motivational, positive methods.

Killer Tip #7 ' Dogs will learn schedules and routines just as people will so make sure to keep your puppy on a consistent routine. Feeding your puppy at the same time everyday will help keep their bathroom schedule consistent too. Also keeping your puppy on a good food routine will help prevent them from over eating and becoming over weight.

In conclusion... you are going to want to start handling your puppy as much as possible, get them used to touch and take them out to get used to the world. This will help teach your puppy how to interact properly with the world early on.

Taking the time to properly train your puppy in their early stages of life will help you save many frustrations that could be faced later on in life as the puppy grows to become a dog. I hope these puppy training tips help... Good Luck ;)
