Bellingham International Airport has daily flights to major cities and direct flights to Las Vegas. The Bellingham Cruise Terminal has Alaska Cruises and Ferry trips. They also have day trips from the terminal during the season to go out on the bay and whale watch or spot Orcas. They also have daily trips to beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. With plenty of shopping and a major shopping mall with plenty of theaters at the mall and around town there is always something to do. It is easy to spend an afternoon in old Fairhaven checking out the shops and stopping for a coffee or ice cream. Known as a college town Western Washington University is central to Bellingham and is tucked up against Sehome Hill arboretum. The arboretum has plenty of trails for walking, hiking and jogging. The one thing that Bellingham has is plenty of parks for recreation a few include basketball and tennis courts. There is even an off leash dog park on Bellingham Bay! With Whatcom Community College and Bellingham Vocational Technical Institute there are plenty of options for education and updating career skills. Unemployment remains fairly low and appears to be staying that way. With a diversity of the job market or jobs available there is usually something available for many people who have a prior work history.
