As the 3rd largest city in the state of California, San Jose in Silicon Valley spans approximately 175 square miles of land. San Jose is also the county seat of the county of Santa Clara. Approximately 1 million individuals are living in San Jose at present.

Several international events are held in San Jose every year. These include the San Jose Grand Prix, the San Jose Jazz Festival, Music in the Park and the Cinequest Film Festival, among others.

Various universities and colleges are located in San Jose. The best known of these is the San Jose State University, which was originally the campus of the system of California State University.

San Jose is one of the safest cities in the United States, with a constantly low crime rate. It has been declared as the safest city in the United States for 5 straight years, another reason for an increase in interest in the area.

Known as the Capital of Silicon Valley, San Jose provides numerous opportunities in computer and high-technology engineering companies in the area. The city is home to world-renowned technology-related businesses, such as Adobe Systems, Cisco, eBay, Hewlett-Packard and IBM, among others. The state of the technology industry has been crucial in the rise and fall of the real estate industry.

The real estate market in San Jose experienced a boom beginning in the 1960s, and peaking during the Internet bubble in the 1990s. The annexation of nearby areas, including the Cambrian Park, promoted rapid development projects. The perfect location of San Jose in the Silicon Valley also prompted more growth in the economy and real estate industry. Another major factor that supports the real estate industry in San Jose is the high income received by workers in San Jose. At present, there are more than 400,000 jobs available in the whole of San Jose.

The most sought-after areas in San Jose include the Downtown area and the Willow Glen neighborhood. Good schools are found in the Almaden Valley. Other popular areas for real estate include Silver Creek and Santana Row. At present, there still remains a surplus of available real estate properties in San Jose, providing home buyers with more choices for both residential and commercial buildings.
