The canyon was formed due to the overflow of the Waimea River. Volcanic eruptions in the area in the past have also played a significant role in the beauty of the canyon. If you enjoy sightseeing, the Waimea Canyon is the perfect attraction for you. The area can be explored by car, foot, and helicopter. Those traveling by car will want to take the route of Canyon Drive, as there are numerous lookout points located along the way. There are also numerous hiking trails that can take you down into the canyon. While each of these trails vary, they are best designed for moderate to experienced hikers. The Waimea Canyon is protected by the Kokee State Park, which, as highlighted above, is another must visit attraction. 4 ' The Napali Coast The Napali is located on the northern side of Kauai and it is one of the highest rated attractions in the area. One of those reasons being all of the ways you can see it. If you are looking for a fun, adventurous challenge, a hike down the Kalalau Trail is a must do activity for you. As previously stated, this trail can be challenging for some, as it is eleven miles and the land can be rough. It is, however, more than worth the hike.
