A Beachfront Hotel Honeymoon Vacation on Barbados - Articles SurfingThis beachfront hotel in Barbados is very suitable as a romantic wedding destination, for a honeymoon vacation, but also a wedding anniversary idea, and it's called The Colony Club People choose a beachfront hotel in Barbados for many reasons. One of the first may be for a beach Honeymoon vacation destination. Another may see it as a romantic wedding destination, and others may want to celebrate a major wedding anniversary in a nice romantic way. It certainly fits the bill as a place to choose as a romantic getaway idea. The great thing is that The Colony Club can do all of these things and do them jolly well too. The Colony Club is certainly a beachfront hotel situated on the beach on the famous west coast of Barbados, and has been restored from a former private Colonial Club, and has thankfully never lost that slight whiff of exclusivity. It was excellently described recently as a peaceful small hotel, [it has 96 rooms], in a good location with decent facilities, and no children or teenagers which makes it a perfect destination for many couples seeking exactly that!! You will find the staff to be old fashioned, and by that is meant courteous and efficient, and they are excellent at being unobtrusive, whilst at the same time being distantly friendly as hotel staff used to be before mass tourism hit Barbados. You will find that nothing is too much trouble for them, which is the way it should be, and it certainly helps the superb ambience of the Colony Club. If you can, then book an Ocean View room which will give you a fantastic view, and is but a few paces from the beach. On the other hand the Pool/Garden Room looks out on the pool, and is quieter at the back of the resort. Whatever you choose, you will find a huge bed, and very comfortable too, very important if this is a beach honeymoon vacation, or part of your romantic getaway idea!! There is also tons of hanging space which isn't the norm in holiday hotels. That's without mentioning all the little extras which are there in abundance. The beach outside the Colony Club isn't huge, and there are quite a lot of rocks with plenty of sunbeds and towels, as was the case around the cleverly designed pool, which is somehow divided up so you don't feel as if there isn't many folk around. What will make you laugh is that despite the number of sunbeds, the Colony Club isn't immune from the early reservation risers!! The pool has a swim up bar, and even although this is a beachfront hotel it is nice to use the pool, and you will find wherever you choose, the beach attendants will fetch drinks, and even bring round free fruit in the morning, and ice cream in the afternoon. Breakfasts and Lunches are very good, and there are a few buffets. A lot of guests choose to eat dinner out, because there is a good choice of local restaurants that cost less, and are as good if not better than in the hotel. For a Beach Honeymoon Vacation, or a romantic wedding destination the Colony Club as a good old fashioned beachfront hotel is well worth checking out, especially if you like old fashioned standards.
