Whilst at the Cathedral take a visit to the Priory Visitor Centre, which is located on the site where Coventry's Medieval Priory and Cathedral use to stand. In here, you will learn everything about this city's history dating back to the time of Lady Godiva through to the time of the dissolution of the church by King Henry VIII. As well as the Cathedral for those who are interested in learning more about British motoring history then a visit to the Transport Museum is a must. It is important to remember that for a long time now Coventry has been associated with the production of motor vehicles. It his here that both the Jaguar Motor Company and Peugeot Motor Company still build cars in factories located on the outskirts of the city. Another place, which may well, is of interest to you when visiting Coventry is "The Herbert". This is an art gallery and museum that is to be found located right in Coventry's cultural area. It has been undergoing some redevelopment works but Coventry City Council hope to have them complete by the early part of this year. As well as the art gallery and museum at The Herbert, you will find their creative media studios and an arts information and history centre.
