The New 7 Wonders of the World: The Modern Global - Articles Surfing

The New 7 Wonders of the World represents the modern global heritage that is meant to revive the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, some of which were already destroyed. The following are the modern New 7 Wonders of the World that encompass the global heritage that shall be recognized by the modern world, each representing with moral virtues.

1. The Pyramid of Chichen Itza from Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico (before 800 A.D.). This structure represents the virtue of knowledge that is coupled with worship in a higher consciousness level. Its different structures demonstrate the extraordinary architectural composition and space that demonstrate commitment of the Mayan civilization to build a Mayan temple city. The Pyramid of Chichen Itza is the greatest and the last remaining Mayan temple.

2. The Statue of Christ the Redeemer at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1931). This structure represents the virtue of openness that welcomes mutual growth to all. The statue of Jesus is 38 meters tall and designed by Heitor da Silva Costa sculpted by Paul Landowski. Standing atop the Corcovado Mountain, the statue of Christ is one of the world's most popular monuments. It represents the Brazilian's warmness to receive their incoming visitors with open arms.

3. The Great Wall of China (220 B.C. and 1368 -1644 A.D.). The largest man-made monument built under the pressure of the need to build a defense system in China that cost many lives to build this colossal structure. The Great Wall of China represents the virtue of perseverance to persist despite the presence of adversities.

4. The Roman Colosseum in Rome, Italy (70-82 A.D.). A historical amphitheater at the center of Rome built to celebrate the glory and joys of the Roman Empire. Although several cruel fights took place in the arena, it also represents virtue of the silver lining of joys after a cloud of suffering and hardships.

5. Machu Picchu in Peru (1460 ' 1970). A settlement that was built in the clouds on the mountain of Machu Picchu, it represents the virtue of dedication to pursue a common cause in order to sustain a community. Lying at the middle of the Amazon jungle, this settlement was lost for over three centuries and was only rediscovered in 1911.

6. Petra in Jordan (9 B.C. ' 40 A.D.). Representing the virtue of protection, this structure is a 42-meter tall Hellenistic temple that stood in the glittering capital of Nabataean empire in Petra. The Nabateaans built tunnels and water chambers with a theater that can accommodate about 4,000 people. The structure engineering and the resourcefulness of the Nabataeans makes this structure an extraordinary temple.

7. Taj Majal in India (1630 A.D.). Built of white marble, this structure is highly regarded to be the Muslim art's perfect jewel. This was built by a Mogul Emperor in memory of his wife hence the structure represents the virtue of passion and love which plays a great part in all of a person's achievement in relationship and success.

The New 7 Wonders of the World not only represents a global heritage but also provides inspiration to all. The virtues that are represented by each of the 7 New Wonders of the World promote solidarity and peace among nations and represent a heritage that will be passed on to many generations to come.
