Bodycraft Treadmill Review - Articles SurfingConsidering a Bodycraft treadmill? Want to know if it's a good brand for you? Here's a review of the Body craft treadmill including strengths and weaknesses of the brand. Overview: Bodycraft treadmills are manufactured by Bodycraft - who also make home gyms, rowing machines, ellipticals and bikes. They've been around for years and ship directly from their warehouses in Los Angeles, California, and Sunbury, Oh. Their treadmills are not as well known as other brands. However Bodycraft is very well known in the home gym market. Their home gyms have received numerous 'Best Buy' awards and they are known to use some of the highest quality parts in their machines. It's logical to assume that they build their treadmills with the same high quality construction. Bodycraft currently makes several treadmill models ranging in price from around $999 to $1999. This puts them into the mid-range treadmill market, where there is a lot of competition. So how do they stack up?
#1) Attractive Consoles - Bodycraft consoles are attractive and well organized. They're bright and easy to read. There are a lot of quick keys for speed or elevation, backlit displays and easy to reach stop buttons. #2) Built-in Speakers with Mp3 Station - The higher end models come with built-in speakers and a place to plug in your iPod or Mp3. This is a great feature, especially if you get bored easily. It should be noted however that this is becoming fairly standard as many other brands are also putting Mp3 docks with speakers into their treadmills. #3) Great Warranties - Bodycraft home treadmills are covered by a lifetime frame warranty, 40 years on motor, 5 years on parts and 2 years on labor. This is an excellent warranty and gives you an indication of the quality of parts used in construction. #4) Decent Reviews - Bodycraft has won many 'Best Buy' awards for their home gyms. And as of this writing user reviews had given the Bodycraft 1120 treadmill 5 out of 5 stars. The TR1120 treadmill also received a 'Best Buy' from a leading treadmill review website.
These treadmills are not as well known or as widely distributed as other brands. Because of this, they can be hard to find. (You might be able to find them second hand or at high end fitness stores.) This may make it harder to service your treadmill should something go wrong. Also, the motor powers - starting around 1.75 HP, are a little low when compared to similarly priced brands. And as stated above, there is a lot of competition in the mid-priced treadmill market.
Bodycraft home treadmills are well built and made by a company that has been around for years with an excellent reputation. They offer attractive consoles, excellent warranties, decent program options and some even have built-in speakers for your mp3. However, Bodycraft seems to have put more into promoting their home gyms than their treadmills. In a crowded treadmill market, they'll have to do more to outshine the competition. There are other brands that give you more in terms of walking area, motor power and fitness tracking tools.
