It's Never Too Late To Start An Anti Aging Exercise Program - Articles Surfing

For many people aging is associated with a decline in their body no longer being strong or flexible as well as their mental functions deteriorating. But most of this physiological decline results from them becoming inactive and is therefore not a natural consequence of the aging process. However recent studies carried out have shown it is never to late to start an anti aging exercise regime and even small changes to your life can provide you with great benefits. In fact studies show that exercise can add between 2 to 6 years on a person's life as well as improve the quality of it dramatically.

So by combining all the types of exercise we have shown below you should be able to help slow the aging process.

1. Cardiovascular
Should do at least 30 minutes of these types of exercises each day. But if you are already doing 30 minutes each day then why not consider increasing the frequency or duration of the workout you do.

2. Strength Training
This should be done 2 to 3 times per week. It is never to late for this and the benefits of this form of exercise normally start to show about 3 weeks after you have started and will only continue to improve if you keep it up. It not only makes you stronger it maintains bone density, prevents falls and increases a person's metabolism so it helps to control a person's weight.

3. Flexibility
This should be done at least 4 times per week. You can even do it at home a few stretching exercises whilst watching the TV. Unfortunately lots of people tend to forget or neglect the stretching exercises and they are an integral part of any anti aging exercise regime. When performed correctly they help with movement, prevent injuries and are beneficial for any aches or pains which many suffer from as they grow older.

4. Mind/Body
Research carried out has shown that mind/body exercises such as Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates are helpful both for the emotional and physical health of a person as they age.

Of course, you will want to check with your doctor before starting any exercise regime, but as you can see an anti aging exercise regime does not need to be strenuous as long as it is done consistently, you will hopefully help to slow the aging process.
