Prostate Health - Articles SurfingFor men, an Enlarging Prostate (EP) is difficult to talk about. Although changes in prostate health are indefinitely part of every man's life, the signs and symptoms that are associated with this condition often prove too embarrassing for most men to even mention. Prostate enlargement is also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH. It remains one of the most prevalent problems for men over the age of 60. Moreover, 90% of all men will experience at least some signs and symptoms by age 80. Conventional treatments aim to reduce symptoms via drug treatments and invasive surgery. However, like many other conditions, the best treatment for the prostate begins far before an enlargement occurs. This is accomplished by manipulating numerous lifestyle factors, including exercise and nutrition. In addition, the use of botanicals and alternative supplements has proven advantageous for supporting the current health of the prostate, and improving urological symptoms when BPH has already been diagnosed. Prevention is the best course of action because. There is not a single man who is not at risk to developing one or more of these conditions in their lifetime. A commonly made mistake is to think *I won*t happen to me at my age*. An increasing number of young men are developing at least one of these three conditions of the prostate. The prostate is a small gland located at the base of the bladder, and although you will not even be aware of it in the good times, its presence will become painfully known if swelling takes place. Considering that a majority of men will experience an enlarged prostate to some degree, keeping it in check should be a top health priority. Swelling takes place due to the cumulative effect of the male hormone dihydro-testosterone. The prostate gland is normally the size of a walnut, but it can commonly grow to 175% of its regular size. This can constrict the urethra and interrupts normal urine flow. In severe cases use of a catheter is necessary to empty the bladder, often a painful experience. This condition is called BPH and can easily be prevented with the right supplements. BPH in itself is not dangerous, but it does seem to increase your risk of developing prostate cancer. Acting now and preventing BPH, or curing it, is tremendously important to your general health! Research has shown that preventing inflammation of the prostate (prostatitis) and BPH also helps to prevent development of prostate cancer. Several different natural vitamins and minerals exist that help you do just this. Getting adequate amounts of these compounds can be challenging through diet alone. You would have to literally eat pounds of different fruits and vegetables to get the necessary amount of these important compounds. There is some good news though: prostate-saving vitamins and minerals are available in concentrated form through supplements. But beware! Most supplements do not provide adequate amounts of the necessary compounds to be effective. Some will contain as little as 1% of your daily requirements! Good supplements, such as Avistate, combine different ingredients proven to support good prostate health. Although Avistate is very effective for men who are already experiencing prostate problems, it is also a good supplement to take as a preventative measure. After all, it is easier to prevent something than to fix it later! Don't let your prostate slow you down, prevention will keep you and your prostate healthy for life. Tools for a Healthy Prostate Prostate Massage If you are interested in male prostate massage, you will want to know where the exact location of male prostate is and how to go for male prostate milking. Prostate massage is part of the digital rectal examination (DRE) routinely given to men by urologists in order to look for nodules of prostate cancer and to obtain expressed prostatic secretions (EPS) for examination under microscope. A second, alternative type of prostate massage, also referred to as "prostate milking", predominantly refers to the sexual practice, common within the BDSM community, of relieving the buildup of seminal fluids within the prostate, by discharging the fluid through massage, without the male experiencing orgasm. Well-done massage helps to better blood circulation, to increase a muscular tone and to restore permeability of prostate channels. Lots of devices are marketed for the purpose of assisting men while doing their own prostate massage. These instruments are commonly referred to as prostate massagers. The shape of a prostate massager is similar to a finger, since prostate massages are traditionally given digitally. A prostate massager should be used with care because of the sensitivity of the prostate. Years of research has narrowed down the list of the building blocks for a healthy prostate. According to the Mayo clinic lycopene, selenium and vitamin E should be part of a sensible diet for men. Lycopene is a vitamin-like substance that acts like an antioxidant, which lowers the risk of cancer. Saw Palmetto has recently been recognized as an effective medicine to treat and prevent benign prostatic hyperplasia (BHP), i.e. non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland. A variety of other natural substances have been found to effectively help men of all ages with their prostate health. A few examples of these are Vitamin E, Echinacea, Nettle Leaf, Parsley Extract, Cayenne Pepper, and Cranberry Extract. Unless you want to have ten different bottles standing in you bathroom, you will have to find a supplement that unites all these substances in one convenient pill. Easier said than done! Most supplements are incomplete, or offer too little of the nutrient to actually make a difference and are mostly filler. An exception to these *hollow supplements* is Avistate, a powerful and complete supplement to not only treat, but to prevent as well BPH and prostatitis. By preventing and treating these relatively minor conditions, you will also significantly decrease your chance of developing prostate cancer.
