Reframing Technique - Articles SurfingReframing is a technique of changing one's perspective or changing a meaning of something. It's a behavioral process of helping people become more successful life and to be able to express oneself more effectively. This technique of personal development was created by studying and modeling the behavioral patterns of successful people in all walks of life. NLP has observed and studied these people and has made a wonderful discovery that can help you change your life for the better. NLP is a collection of information * more like a *manual* for the brain. It's a set of insights and skills that can help improve the mental and behavioral patterns of the people to achieve happiness and success in life. Reframing technique is looking at things differently and changing your normal tendencies and reactions to any situations. Imagine seeing an original painting of Monaliza by Leonardo da Vinci in a cheap frame, your normal reaction would be, *this painting is not an original*. But again, when you see the same painting framed expensively you would say *this is an original*. The painting is the same, there were no two paintings that were framed, the only difference is the frames used at different circumstances and you reacted differently in both situations. That is what reframing technique is all about * it changes your perspective of the same things. It changes your ideas, your belief and your normal tendencies in life. Reframing is a way of challenging yourself to see the positive in everything that is happening around you, however bad they can be. It gives you hope that even a situation feels very hurtful; there are lessons to be learned along the way, to help you become a better person. Reframing changes the content and or context of a situation. How you think defines and determines how you react in any given circumstances. You can choose to be a victim or choose to learn from it and move on. As the saying goes, *when the going gets tough, the tough gets going*, that is a frame of mind. If you don*t have that kind of fighting spirit * then you can learn to adopt one. For example: You feel that you are very demanding and overly bossy and people avoid you because of this personality trait. Instead of focusing on the negative side of your *very strong personality* why not try to look for something good about it. Like *women like their men strong, it gives them a feeling a protectiveness* and *I have reach my greatest potential because I demanded the best from myself.* You changed the negative content by reframing. Instead of focusing on the negative aspect of your personality, look on the brighter side and cultivate what is good. Your strong personality can be your greatest asset if you know how to reframe your mind. Choose to use your strong personality by helping people feel protected or help someone step the ladder of success by teaching him/her your secret, and that is demanding only the best from yourself. Every negative aspect of life can be reframed to help us find the positive side. Reframing gives people the ability to exercise their freedom to challenge themselves to always look for the good and the beautiful in everything they see. Reframing your mind will surely works wonder and makes you happier.
