Gas Cards - The Way To Saving At The Pump - Articles SurfingAs I opened up the newspaper this weekend, I almost choked on my breakfast when I realized that gasoline was going to reach an all time high of almost four dollars a gallon. How do we as Americans afford gas at this insane rate? Well, the answer is quite simple, we can*t! But, like underwear and food, we need it because it's a necessity to travel to and from our jobs to make money. When gas was slightly over two dollars a gallon, it seemed like the United States was going to riot and the sound has slightly gone down. It's not as often you hear the news talk about the gas prices or your next door neighbor complain about their last fill up. Instead, we drive back and forth in our SUVs and keep our mouths shut while we fill up letting corporate gas stations reach record profits. Many people always want to find ways out of the gas industry and create their own mix or find alternative ways where they don*t need to pay four dollars a gallon. While that might be a little challenging, there is one thing that will save you money and that one thing is a gas credit card. I'll explain to you today how a gas credit card functions and how it can save you money month after month when you fill up your car. A gas credit card is very similar to your average cash back or any other type of reward card. Instead, it gives you a percentage back on gasoline fill ups. Depending on what card you apply for, you may find that you can either use it at one gas station or you can use it at every gas station. Each card is unique in its own way and offers many rewards and different rates. It's up to you to decide on which card best suits your fill up needs. Regardless, you*re going to save at least three percent per gallon. Now, I know you*re thinking to yourself, *Wow, three percent per gallon isn*t even worth it.* Well, let me tell you that the average car fills up with about ten gallons. Let's say the price of gas is at three dollars a gallon. This would be thirty dollars a fill up. If we take these thirty dollars and multiply it by the savings of three percent, you*re going to save ninety cents. Now, remember that there are cards out there that allow you to save even more. There are many other ways to save on gas out there besides a gas credit card. You can obviously walk more often, schedule your trips so you*re not driving as much, use a carpool, and the list can go on. A gas card is one of the only ways you can save on gas without stealing it. If it sounds like a great plan, start your search today and have your card by next week. The savings can be endless!
