Lead Generation - Articles Surfing
Generating leads in crucial for any business whether it be online or offline. Success in sales of any kind is determined by how many people you talk to.
One of the first things you want to do is find some kind of automated system that will get information to your prospects about the product or opportunity you have for them. This is called a Lead Capture Page. The sole purpose of a Lead Capture Page is to get the prospect's information. Usually the less information you ask for, the better. People are willing to give at least there name and e-mail address, maybe a phone number. If you ask for more than this, you won't have as many people leaving information.
In your Lead Capture Page, you want to have some kind of headline that attracts. If you don't get their attention in the first few seconds, you've lost them. However, once you have their attention, you want to keep it long enough for them to give you the information you want. So give them something they would be interested in, but don't try to sell them anything yet. Don't give them any details about your business. All you want to do is get the information.
Now that you have the information you need from your prospect, you'll need to follow up with e-mails promoting your product or business opportunity. This is done with an Auto responder. An Auto responder will start a series of e-mails promoting your product or business. Follow up is very important. It normally takes someone seeing your business or product at least 4 or 5 times before they decide you join you or buy your product. There are numerous companies online that specialize in these services.
Once you have your Lead Generation website running, driving traffic to that site is the next step. There are a number a ways to drive traffic to your site. It's not as difficult as many believe. The real difference between successful marketers and those who seem never to get anywhere is numbers.
Here are some ways to drive traffic to your site.
1. Pay Per Click - Pay per click is an effective way to send traffic to your site, but you have to be careful. You want to be very targeted in your campaign. Each click pays the search engine, not you. You have to get someone to buy before you make any money. So target your market. You have to strike a balance between pulling the right people in and keeping the wrong people out.
2. Articles and Press releases - With every article you write include your website in the Author's Resource Box. There are 100's of sites on the Internet that publish article. The more site you send your article too, the better the chance of someone clicking the your link to your website. Press releases are very similar. Just describe your product or opportunity in your press release and include the link to your site and you have a quick way to get your message out.
3. Advertise Online - There are many different ways to advertise online so you want to target your advertising to forums that relate to your business.
4. E-mail Blasts - There are companies online that have very large lists of opt-in subscribers for any number of niches. You pay them for using there list. You can from 10,000 to 100's of thousands, if you like. This can be expensive, however. So decide on how much you're going to spend on advertising and stay within your budget.
All of these methods are effective. If you decide to use any of these methods, it's best to start with one and master that method. Stick with one until you feel comfortable with it and then you can go to the next. If you spread yourself too thin, you may get overwhelmed and quit.
Remember that what you want is to send traffic to your Capture Page so you can get information from your prospects.
