For some people this can be can be particularly important as they are uncomfortable with running their own business. For others, this can be a downside. As such, it is important to understand your own personality when selecting from the many different types of work at home careers available to you.

Many freelance writers, graphic artists, and computer programmers work for larger corporations at home. Such work at home careers generally entail receiving assignments directly from the larger company. In this way, the writer or computer expert does not need to worry about marketing his or her services or even collecting from a number of clients. Instead, these responsibilities lie on the larger corporation, giving the writer or computer expert more time to focus on his or her craft rather than being preoccupied with the business aspect of the work at home career.
