The human body is quite complex and models are a great way of breaking it down into sections for students to study. Anatomical models have been used in physician education for almost all modalities in medicine. If you are in the medical industry chances are you have study an anatomical model somewhere along the line in your education. There are countless varieties of anatomical models out there for health care professionals to study. Whether you are going into dermatology or going into a highly specialized field like neurology you can find a model that will bring your education to a higher level. These tools are a great educator for physicians and can also be a great resource for them as well when they are treating patients. When you ask a physician what the most challenging thing for them is. They will often respond that it is explaining to their patients the disease or issue that they have. Anatomical models are an excellent tool for knocking down the communication barrier between the physician and patient. By allowing the patient to see a three dimensional model they can picture in their mind what it is the doctor is explaining to them. Since doctors use these as a resource for patient education as well as educating themselves early in their career, you will often find these models in physician's offices as well as medical education facilities. A physician who operates his own practice might put a model in each exam room that he has so that he can reference the model should the patient need any clarification. The best way for a physician to explain to a patient about their condition is show them what is actually happening in their body without having to go through testing. If a patient has a herniated disc a chiropractor can use an anatomical model as a visual aid so that the patient can see what has happened to his spine and why he is experiencing pain. Whether using anatomical models to educate young physicians entering the medical field or patients of the physicians already in the medical field, these models can prove to be an invaluable resource.
