Reasons For Starting A Tutoring Business - Articles Surfing
There are some times in our life where we feel like it is time to make a change. Sometimes this change might be a major one such as having another child, moving, or switching careers. Other times this change might be less drastic such as losing weight, reorganizing your garage, or picking up a hobby. Of the many reasons people decide to make these changes, the most common is that they want to improve their day to day happiness. So can you, simply by starting your own tutoring business.
Opening your own tutoring business could change your life. It has the potential to not only increase your profit but allow you to have more free time to spend doing the things you enjoy. It could start out as a small little side job, an opportunity to put a few extra dollars in your pocket, and it could blossom into a full-time, very lucrative business. Running a successful tutoring business could impact your life and the life of your family in many, many ways, making you a much happier person.
Who wouldn't be happy setting your own schedule and working when you want to work? You get to decide whether you are going to tutor for a few hours after school, after dinner, or even work with home-schooled children during the day. Some tutors chose to spend Saturday mornings with clients while others prefer to have their weekends free and only run sessions during the school week. I've even known some tutors who just work in the summer when they have a great deal of free time.
Running your own tutoring business would also allow you to decide where you want to work. Some tutors find that the best option when tutoring locally is to have the students meet them at a public place such as a town library while other tutors find it easier to either meet at the student's house or to meet at their own house where they have more control over the learning environment. An option that is becoming much more popular is online tutoring. This allows tutors to work from home as long as they have a computer, a microphone, and access to the internet. Since tutoring online eliminates the need for travel, the tutors are able to save a great deal of time and energy commuting. This extra time will allow you to run more sessions which will result in more money in your pocket.
An established tutoring business can prove to be very profitable. Consider the following scenario. A mother of 3 puts her children to bed between 7 and 7:30. She then logs onto the computer and for her first of two, hour-long, online tutoring sessions at 8:00 pm. She does this every Monday through Thursday nights and also 3 hours on Saturday morning. She charges $30/hr, a very reasonable price, and brings in a total of $330 for the week. Multiply this by four weeks and suddenly her monthly income jumped by $1,320.00! Not bad for working only 11 hours a week.
Not only will tutoring make you happier by increasing your finances and let you spend more time with your family and friends, but it will also give you a sense of accomplishment and pride. There are few greater feelings than seeing a child realize that they finally understand something that they originally believed to be complicated and overwhelming. As a tutor you would be the key to making students succeed and you can walk away from each session knowing that you made a difference in the life of a child.
Now is the time to make a change in your life. Now is the time to take a positive step towards financial freedom and personal satisfaction. Now is the time to take the plunge and open your own tutoring business. Why shouldn't you decide when and where you are going to work? Why shouldn't you bring in over a thousand extra dollars a month? Why shouldn't you do something you enjoy doing? The resources, business plans, marketing strategies, and most importantly, clients are out there, it is up to you make a commitment and decide you are going to change your life for the better and take the first step.
