Karaoke Singers Alert : Preparing for the Big Night and Song Selection Choices - Articles Surfing

Your hands are trembling as you step up on step on stage. Thousands of eyes are set upon you and you start to worry if you're going to fumble the lyrics. The biggest decision that anyone has to make for karaoke is what song they should attempt on stage.

There are literally thousands of tracks available with most karaoke sets, so it can be daunting looking through the big book of songs, but if you keep in mind a few select tips it will make your night easier, and provide as much enjoyment as possible.

First, make sure that you pick a karaoke track that suits your voice. Whether it is your first time or 101st time, you have to make sure that you can reach at least majority of the notes you need.

If you have a deep voice, there is no point of choosing artists like Celine Dion or Whitney Houston, and the same goes for high-pitch voices; Barry White should be out of the question. Instead choose karaoke tracks that fit within your range, and that way instead of worrying about if you can hit that hard note coming up, you will be able to relax and just enjoy the song.

Choosing the right karaoke track also depends on what you are getting up stage for. If you are with friends, and looking at getting up as a group for a bit of fun, it is wise to choose an up-tempo song that suits your mood instead of a slow ballad. If you are a regular, and want to take something a bit more serious, there is nothing wrong in selecting a slower song if you can handle it.

But a small tip to remember about most karaoke bars is that most people are out to have a good time, so choosing a slow and sombre song that does not really fit the ambience of the room can have drastic effects.

Finally, when choosing your karaoke track it is best to find a song with a tune and lyrics that you are at least familiar with. You do not have to know every song you get up stage for off by heart (that's why the TVs are there to assist you) but choosing a karaoke track that you have heard more than once or twice will give you a bit more confidence in performing.

If you are a bit more experienced in the song, try and not depend on the lyrics printed and try to keep your attention on audience. There is nothing wrong with not constantly looking at the screen, and they will be there if you get in a little bit of trouble! But the biggest tip to take on when selecting a karaoke track is to remember to have fun! Choose a song you enjoy, go up with a few people, or by yourself if you are confident enough, and just enjoy yourself.

After all that is the true spirit of how karaoke is intended to be.
