The Blue Man Group is compromised of sixty 'blue men' that provide entertainment, excitement, through theatrical products, music, and comedy to various people throughout the world. The group started with three friends in New York City. Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton, and Chris Wink, performed throughout New York on the streets and in East Village in their art spaces. When music was added with the help of Caryl Glaab, Ian Pai, and Larry Heinemann, the show really took off. Their very first major gig was performed at La Mama in East Village. From there, the rest is history, as we know it.

The Blue Man Group, also fondly referred to as BMG, became such a phenomenon that for many years they have performed, with repeated invitations from Jay Leno, of The Tonight show. No matter where you are at in the world, you are never far away from a production consisting of the Blue Man Group. They perform in cities throughout the world including London, Toronto, Berlin, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, and of course, New York. Depending on where you are visiting, the show may be the same in many cities. However, in the Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, and New York you may find something different now and then. This is especially true in Las Vegas, as it is largest theatre to host the Blue Man Group.

If you are planning to take in one of BMG's theatrical performances, you may want to come readily prepared. Occasionally, you may find yourself walking out of the production with a few different spots on your clothing than you walked in with. There is an area directly near the stage that is known as what is called a 'Poncho Section'. This means you are sitting very near the area where the Blue Man Group uses some of their materials. Never fear though, BMG has you covered by offering every person seating within the poncho section, a free poncho because you never know what might happen upon you during the performance.

The old, the young, and everywhere in between find the Blue Man Group theatrical shows fun and enlightening. There is something for everyone, character, commentary, humor, tons of color, great lights, and most of all intense fun for everyone involved.

If you are a Blue Man Group fan looking to buy some merchandise or BMG music your in luck. BMG's debut album, received rave reviews, gold record status, and a Grammy nomination. 'Audio' is available at major music retailers such as Sam Goody, Virgin, and Tower Records. Their latest release, 'The Complex', is also available as the Blue Man Group's first rock compact disc. For those who want to see more of BMG, you will have no problems with that either. They have recently released a DVD of 'The Compex Rock Tour', as well as 'Audio' on DVD-10, to view some interviews and photographs of BMG.
