Making Money Online And The Scams - Articles SurfingMaking money online is possible, but finding a way that works for you can be very confusing, frustrating, time consuming, and sometimes expensive. There are a lot of legitimate money making sites out there, but there are also a lot of scams that are just trying to get rich at your expense. There are a few ways to spot the scams, so you do not end up wasting any time or money on these. There are a lot of websites out there who offer to show you how to make money online, but they want you to pay them for it. This is one of the most common scams. What these sites are selling is information, which in this modern day and age you can get for free right off the Internet. These sites have usually compiled a list of related sites which may also require money. It is a big waste of money to pay for this information when you do not have to. Another common scam is an e-mail which asks you to be a representative for a company that doesn't have a office in the United States. This e-mail offers to give you the position and all you have to do is cash money orders or checks from customers in the United States who will make them out in your name. This is a huge scam, and the checks or money orders are either stolen or they are copies which are not valid. Once you cash these through your bank and send out the balance after your fee, the thing bounces and you are on the hook for the whole amount. This can lead to serious legal and financial trouble, so it is a good idea to stay away from any venture that requires you to cash checks or money orders and turn over part of the proceeds. Another scam in making money on the Internet are websites and companies that guarantee you will make hundreds of dollars by taking online surveys, but want you to sign up for products and services. These are not actually paid surveys, it is simply a pay to sign up type of program, and these sometimes require a credit card. Legitimate paid survey companies pay you for your opinions, not to sign up for products and services. You can avoid some of the most common scams concerning making money online if you follow a few rules. Legitimate paid survey companies pay you, and they never ask you to have a credit card or to pay for something. If someone wants you to cash financial documents and send them part of the funds, stay away and do not cash anything. If you receive any of these documents through the mail then turn them in to the postal inspector. And never pay for information that you can find for free online. Spending a little time can help you save money as well as make money online. Copyright ' 2007 Joel Teo. All rights reserved.
