Are You Ready For Liposuction? - Articles Surfing

Before the advent of liposuction or suction lipectomy, it was difficult if not impossible to remove fat from certain areas of the body. But now there is hope, thanks to this new procedure.

Suction lipectomy is usually performed by a plastic surgeon that marks off unwanted fat to be suctioned by a tiny vacuum. After a small incision is made, the surgeon inserts a long hollow tube or cannula in the area to remove fat. The overlying skin is then smoothed out and bandaged to prevent body fluids from going to the suctioned area.

'Liposuction is for people who have too much body fat in specific spots, but who otherwise have stable body weight. Candidates must be in good health, without conditions such as restricted blood flow, coronary artery disease, diabetes or a weakened immune system that could complicate surgery,' explained the Mayo Clinic.

At the hands of a skilled surgeon, liposuction can be used to remove unwanted fat from the abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, and neckline. Doctors say that no more than six to eight pounds of fat should be removed in the operation. The procedure, however, can be repeated to battle more bulges. Does that mean all fat people can try it?

Not so, according to Dr. Jack Yetiv in Popular Nutrition Practices: Sense and Nonsense.' "The ideal candidate should be under 40 years of age, is no more than 30-40 pounds overweight, and has good skin elasticity and bulges which have been refractory to dieting and exercise," he said.

But like other procedures, there are certain complications to worry about. These include excessive fluid loss, burning, and a tearing sensation in the operated area which may last for months, numbness or swelling of the area, and unusual skin pigmentation. Aside from this, there is also the possibility that the procedure won't work.

'Depending on how much fat is removed, liposuction can range from a minor operation with minimal recovery time and risk to a major operation with a potentially painful recovery and risks of rare, but serious, complications - including death,' warned the Mayo Clinic.

Others may be turned off by liposuction's fat price which is sure to be suctioned off their wallets if they undergo this operation.

"The cost may decrease as more physicians learn how to perform this technique, but bad results may also occur more frequently as less experienced practitioners perform the procedure," Yetiv added.

Before you do anything, see a competent plastic surgeon to determine if liposuction will work for you. If not, a better alternative is Zylorin. This safe and effective fat burner will improve your appearance and give you the confidence to face the world again. For details, go to http://www.zylorin.com.
