Relieve The Pains Of Tendonitis Naturally - Articles Surfing

Long hours of typing or working, hauling of furniture, extra rounds of golf, cleaning the garage or attic all day and other sudden performance of strenuous activities make you look like a hard hitter in life; a super homo sapiens so to speak. But all the vigorous exertions that you do will always end up in a brand-new pain the following day. And before you are aware of it, you are already suffering from tendonitis.

Tendonitis, also referred to as tendinitis, is basically an inflammation of a tendon; you know that band of compact and tough white tissue that joins your muscles with your bone parts. Since the main cause of this major problem is unexpected overuse of your muscles and joints, the best way to soothe the pain is by ample amount of rest. That's why, when it comes to tendonitis, many experts recommend natural and gentle treatment methods instead of going for painkillers. And here are some of those effective natural tendonitis treatment methods.

Ice Cold Treatment

Your best bet in relieving the pain caused by tendonitis is ice or anything frozen that is clean and practical. That's right, within twenty-four hours after you have first felt the pain, go for an ice massage and the inflammation which brings you a lot of pain can be significantly reduced. Some therapists recommend frozen peas as the best implement for an ice massage because peas are round and small enough to be molded in the exact outline or shape of any of the affected areas in your body.

When using ice, always remember to use an ice bag and to put on additional insulation such as a piece of thin cloth or a plastic food wrap to prevent ice burns on your skin. The additional insulation is intended to keep your skin from the direct contact of the ice bag while maintaining enough coldness to soothe the inflamed area.

For about five to ten minutes, rub the affected area gently and evenly with the ice or frozen peas. This should be long enough to make the affected area numb enough for the inflammation to subside. Perform the ice massage once every other hour during the first day; and then three times daily starting on the second day.

Tension Release

The tension in your shoulder and neck areas cuts off blood circulation on the muscles along your shoulders, arms, and wrists. When this happens, you may experience tendonitis, and even bursitis, on the mentioned areas. To prevent tendonitis on your shoulders and arms you have to regularly relieve the tension on your shoulder and neck areas.

You can choose any one or a combination of the various tension release techniques such as acupressure, deep breathing, therapeutic massages, and visualization among others. These tension release techniques will allow sufficient blood circulation to your neck, shoulders, and upper limbs which will enable your tendons and muscles to deal with the wear and tear that is brought about by strenuous activities and sudden overuse of tendons.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Not all kinds of fat can be harmful to humans. One of the most beneficial fatty acids goes by the name Omega 3. This fatty acid, which very much sounds like the name of a robot or a car, is very effective against most types of inflammation. You can get your fill of Omega 3 from fish and flaxseed oils. Try including fish like salmon, tuna, or mackerel in your diet at least twice every week and you will have a good chance of avoiding tendonitis.

Indeed, tendonitis and all other painful disorders can significantly reduce your movement and imperil your work. Always protect yourself from ailments in your tendons and other kinds of padding between your muscles and bones. And while you're at it, try as much to protect your joints too. Nourish your joints by eating healthy diet, lots of exercise, and products like Phosoplex. For more information about joint formula, visit www.Phosoplex.com.
