Quilt Cover & Sheet Sizes

' Standard fitted sheets will fit a mattress which is 25cm (10') deep
' Deep fitted sheets will fit a mattress which is 28cm (11') deep

Pillow Sizes

' Housewife pillowcase - measures 50x75cm (18x30")

' Oxford pillowcase - measures 50x75cm (18x30") but in addition to these dimensions they have a 5cm (2") fabric border around the outside which can be frilled or flat

' Square pillowcase - measures 65x65cm (26x26")

' Kingsize pillowcase - measures 50x90cm (20x35")

' Box pillowcase - this pillowcase has a gusset and it measures 48x74x10cm (19x29x4")

' V shaped pillowcase - 92x41cm (36x16")

What is Thread Count and why is it important?

' The 'Thread Count' means the number of threads in a square inch of fabric.

' The higher the thread count, the finer and smoother the fabric will be.

' The higher the thread count, the better the quality of the fabric and the longer it will last.

What is Percale?

' Fabrics must have a thread count of at least 180 threads per square inch in order to be classed as percale.
