Wash Them Good! - Articles SurfingHygiene and personal care are the two utmost essential things to focus on for a healthy lifestyle. Being clean means that you look over your stuff and check if they are dust and dirt free from time to time. The things that need the most hygienic care are underwear and undergarments. This is because it is worn the longest in a day compared to other garments. The lingerie must be at its highest sanitation to avoid infections, diseases, and skin irritations. To be successful in personal care, you need to list some guidelines and priorities. Do not be a victim of disposing expensive and branded underwear because it is torn apart, it had loose threads, the garter had overstretched (kind of ironic, but it is true), holes are starting to conquer the whole thing, and the yuckiest of all new things like molds are sprouting out of it. It is totally worthless and stupid if we scrub ourselves ten or hundreds even thousands of times when taking a bath, or washing our private parts with doctor-prescribed and media-launched antibacterial liquid soaps and that sort when the underwear we jump into is dirty and a germ kingdom. Plus, you are just wasting your time in doing this ridiculous cycle. If you purchase intimate apparel or underwear (expensive or not) you must know and must be responsible in taking care of them. You may also ask the sales assistants the rules to be followed in washing and keeping the item, before purchasing. Otherwise, these garments would end up in the garbage can. But just in case you really are in the cleaning crisis right now, here are some basics that would help you. BRASSIERES Brassieres, especially those with wires under the cups, should only be soaked in powdered detergent and clean water for a couple of minutes. Rinse off properly and make sure all bubbles are wiped out. If you want to make it fragrant, you can also soak it in fabric conditioner with the scent you desire. Never wring the brassiere. If you wash this, do not do it like you do your t-shirts where you scrub off its dirt, it will surely lose its form. However, if you are busy with other stuff, there is always a washing machine. But be very careful and put them inside laundry net bags. Brassieres do not need pressing, it is a wash and wear garment. So after washing, hang to dry it up, and you are off to go. PANTIES and BRIEFS Panties and briefs are the ones that need the most washing. Soak in powdered detergent and clean water, scrub off those dirt elements and stains if there are any, and then rinse thoroughly. Hang to dry. You can either press or not depending on your desire. In keeping and storing, separate your underwear from other garments and place moth balls in the corners of your drawer to shoo away cockroaches and other insects that may penetrate your garments. LADIES' INTIMATES On silk, there is no need to scrub or knead or whatsoever. It is a wash and wear garment like your brassiere. It also does not need pressing. Just soak it in water and fabric conditioner with the scent you want, and then do not wring too much. Hang to dry. On leather, it does not need too much cleaning. A soak in detergent and water is enough. Then also hang to dry.
