Work From Home: The Top Ten Reasons Part 2 - Articles Surfing

When you work from home, you've already made the choice based on your own needs and benefits. Here are some common reasons for taking the career step.

People have many different reasons to choose home as your work site. Sometimes what seems obvious to one entrepreneur will be a reason that another person rates very low on the list of reasons for choosing this work environment. Although commuting costs, clothing expenses, scheduling flexibility and food consumption are key reasons to avoid the corporate offices, here are even more important reasons for some people.

Family ties

Probably the reason most often given as the basis for choosing to work from home is being able to enjoy your family. Whether your family consists of children, spouse, or even aging parents, working from your home allows you to be present even though you are putting in time on the job. Loved ones at each end of the age spectrum sometimes need our presence more than they need the money from overtime hours at the corporate office. Children are far more likely to remember the time you spent with them than the gift you bought them.

Working for your own success

When you work from home, you are working for your own wealthy and economic survival, not that of someone else. Few people have ever become wealthy by working for another person as a day laborer or even as a management employee. There are too many limitations and roadblocks placed in front of you to ever join the ranks of the wealthy entrepreneurs when you are tied to a day job. Working harder is easier when you can see the results going into your own pocket rather than that of someone else.

Choose your own pay level

Since you are the person writing the paychecks, you know how much of the income from your work from home can go into your pocket and how much income needs to go back into the business in order that it can flourish and grow. If you must have more income in your personal life, you know how to increase the size of the paycheck that comes to you.

Pay fewer taxes

There is an opportunity to save thousands of dollars in income taxes when you are able to reduce your tax obligation by businesses expenses. Of course, the advice and information of a qualified tax accountant is the best way to take advantage of the tax savings you will be eligible for when you work from home and own your own business. You can even claim the costs of the tax preparation itself.

Choose your home site

You no longer have to place your home location so that you can get back and forth to work. Your home location will be your own personal preference, whether you like the ocean, the mountains or the city. In each case, there are advantages to be gained, so you can choose the location that most appeals to you.

Reduce the overhead

Since you can create your work from home location from space within or near your existing living space, you will find that your costs will be lower. You no longer will have to heat or cool two separate structures. You can combine the equipment such as computers or printers rather than to purchase two sets of equipment.
