America Is Worried About The Economy - Articles Surfing

I've been accused of being a meticulous tracker of data and stats.

Here's what I mean...

Over the course of the past year I've written and submitted ten articles through the isnare.com distribution service. One article proves inconclusively that America is worried about the economy.

On January 16, 2008 I submitted an article titled Business Growth Strategies For Surviving The US Recession. That article has received more interest and more views from publishers than any other article I've ever submitted through the network.

Actually, in only 40 days that article has received more views than any other article I've ever submitted through isnare.com. This is no small feat. One article was submitted on December 30th 2006. Yet my recent US recession article has surpassed all of my other articles in publisher interest.

What does this tell us? That people are worried. And with good reason. We are facing a mortgage crisis, a drop in corporate and consumer technology spending, and an increase in oil costs that will trigger a destructive domino effect in many industries.

The worse to suffer will be small business owners, consumers, and the poor. The rich will continue to prosper. But so will proactive business owners.

I'm perplexed by the number of people who are standing around doing nothing. If the recession came rushing in on us decked in battle armor, tanks, and weapons people would be fighting back. Or at the very least grabbing their prized possessions and hiding in their basements or attics. They'd be doing something.

But that's not what's happening with business owners today. Most I've spoken with are doing absolutely nothing. They are continuing one day as the previous. They are in a daze. Some ethereal fog. Like hypnotized zombies they drag themselves through life but not actually there.

It reminds me of looking at films of Hiroshima victims who were in a daze after the blast. They were physically present but their minds were far removed from them. They were just a shell, a husk of what previously had been a person. Who could blame them? Everything happened so quickly. There was nothing they could do. They were caught off guard.

But that is NOT the case with this recession. It's obvious it is coming. There's no reason to enter the fog of disbelief now. Now is the time to shore up defenses. To strengthen companies. To become proactive.

It's only by taking an aggressive stance at keeping your business growing that you'll be able to overcome any worries over the recession.

Heck it's your choice. Either take action and strengthen your company now, or continue to walk around in zombie-like state procrastinating about what to do...and get blown away when the recession finally hits.

Yes, I've already counted the cost of inaction. It's a bill I'm unwilling to pay.
