Do's And Don'ts Of Promotional Gifts - Articles Surfing

When you are giving out printed promotional gifts, there are some things that you should remember. There are a set of do's and don't's that you should keep in mind and use them as a guideline for when you give out printed promotional gifts.

Do

Choose a printed promotional gift for a person of opposite sex carefully. You don't want to send the person the wrong message or have your gift misinterpreted. If the wrong gift is sent to someone, it could be misconstrued as being sexual harassment or something else.

Make sure that there aren't any mistakes when you are giving someone one of your company's personalized promotional gifts. Check the order form to make sure that the name is spelled right, and then check it when the item comes in. When you are recognizing an employee, you want to be sure that his or her name is spelled right when you give it to them.

Be sure that you are aware of any restrictions that they have on their diet if you are giving someone a a printed promotional gift of food, whether they are ethical, medical, or religious restrictions.

Don't

Don't forget to be aware of any customs that people may have when you are dealing with clients overseas. You don't want to have to worry about offending someone because you didn't find out what their customs are. It's also good idea to order something for an international client locally so that they don't have to worry about our paying duty or tax on the gift.

Don't forget to include the client's assistants when you send corporate promotional gifts, because they will be glad that they were remembered and it will look good to their boss.

Don't give out corporate promotional gifts to clients who used to be with your company, because they may think that you are trying to win them back. If you want to send something to them, a card is appropriate but don't do it past one year after your business relationship was terminated.

Don't send one of your corporate promotional gifts to a group if you aren't sure that everyone knows everyone else. If you deal with a few people at a company, you can send a group gift. But the people should all work together and know one another.

Even though you may feel as if it's the proper thing to do, don't send a corporate promotional gift back to someone who has sent you a gift right away. Let them know that you got the gift and thank them for it, but you don't have to send them one right back.

If you have clients that you give gifts to each year, don't give them the same gift each and every year. Giving something new to them each year lets them know that they are valued.

These do's and don't's are important to remember when you are giving out printed promotional gifts and will help you look professional in the eyes of your clients and employees.
