To Blog Or Not To Blog - Articles Surfing

Blogs (or web logs) have been described as online diaries. According to Andy Wibbels, more than 70,000 new blogs are created each day! Blogs can have many purposes. Some people have personal blogs where they share details of their lives. Sometimes, families use blogs to keep each other updated on family happenings. Businesses use blogs to help build relationships with clients and potential clients.

Here are some ways a blog can help your business:

Blogs are typically updated more often than static web sites. Some bloggers update their sites daily, while others go with a weekly schedule, still others have a schedule somewhere in between. There are no formal rules when it comes to posting on your blog. Your posts can be as long, or as short as you want them to be. So, updating your blog will be less involved than updating your web site.

Blogs also offer a more informal style of writing that allows you to build a more intimate relationship with clients and potential clients. When you post to your blog, it's generally a more conversational style. This allows your own individual personality to come through, and for you to really connect with your niche.

Blogs can be a great way for you to get additional exposure for your business. When you set up a blog, you have the option of allowing blog updates to be posted on blog search engines and directories. By choosing this option, you are giving yourself exposure to a larger audience. Blogging can increase your web traffic and your e-zine sign-ups. Blogs also get regular media exposure. Keeping an updated blog that directly targets your niche is a great way to become known as an expert, and possibly gain media exposure.

You can choose to do a blog along with your e-zine, or you can write a blog in lieu of an e-zine. You can also build a community around your blog by allowing visitors to post comments. This will allow you to get to know your audience and allow them to get to know you further.

Blogging is a great option to help gain exposure for your business, and it's easy to get started. First, explore the blogs of others and see what you like and don't like. Next, decide how often you want to post to your blog. Then, set up a blog and give it a try. Make sure you drive traffic to your blog by telling everyone about it. Try blogging for a few months and see how you like it. Your blog will evolve over time, and you can change things as your business grows.

Even if you're not a writer, you can create a successful blog. For ideas on what to blog about, look to current events, industry news, something that happened in your daily life, a new business tool, the possibilities of subjects are endless.

Blogging is an easy, informal way to build a relationship and stay in touch with your potential clients and clients. More and more businesses are seeing the value of blogging. And, with so many entrepreneurs, businesses, and marketing messages out there, the more you can get to know your clients and they can get to know you, the easier it will be to grow your business.
