Trust Yourself And Make That Decision - Wealthy Affiliate University - Articles SurfingMy 8 year old daughter wrote me a short essay about a month ago. It went something like this: 'I was sitting lonely on a shelf in a sealed bottle in a mini mart last Sunday morning. Then, I saw a young girl walk into the mini mart. The young girl picked the bottle which I was sealed in and paid for it at the counter. I was so over the moon. She took me home and blew at me through a stick and I became a bubble. It was very ticklish. I felt that I was getting bigger and rounder. I floated up into the air. I floated higher and higher. I glistened in the shiny sunshine. After a few minutes later, all of a sudden, I went POP! I was startled and puzzled. I was a bubble no more. I became heavy drops of soap and fell downwards to the ground. Plop! Plop! Plop! Now I lay waiting on the grass, saddened and disappointed. Will I ever be a bubble again?' Touching yes? I had no idea what was going through my 8 year old daughter's mind when she wrote this and handed it to me to read. Was she trying to tell me something? Well, being a widow and having to raise her on my own since she was one has been a trying adventure. Just like a road, my life had many detours, corners and crossroads. And perhaps the most perplexing road that I had encountered was a crossroad. With four roads to choose from and with limited knowledge on where I would be heading to, which road do I take? What guarantee was there that I would choose the right one along the way? Do I take any road, or just stay where I was, in front of a crossroad? There were no guarantees at a crossroad. I had no idea which road to take or where it would lead me until I took it. There were no guarantees. This is one of the most important things you need to realize about life. No one has ever said that choosing to do the right thing all the time would always lead you to happiness. Does loving someone with all your heart, guarantee that it would be returned? There are too many possible outcomes, which you really cannot control. The only thing you have absolute power over is the decisions that you will make. So, if you are at a crossroad and struggling within yourself for extra income, just like I had been and not knowing where I was heading to in life, the good is that there are, solutions. Just like my daughter had written in her last line, 'Will I ever be a bubble again?', I too had thoughts of 'Will I ever make it through this and get back on my feet ever again?'. I seized the opportunity in front of me and made a decision. An opportunity was knocking at my door to make my life better with Wealthy Affiliate University.
